The “black stuff” you see is a result of burn marks, dirt, dust, spray starch and fabric fiber buildup. Additionally, if you leave water inside your iron, it could begin to rust cause rusty spots.
- Should you iron wool? Yes, you can iron wool if you need to, it's just important to take extra care. If you're going to use an iron, use a pressing cloth to avoid leaving marks on the fabric from overheating the wool. Put a piece of fabric between the iron and the wool to protect it – a piece of muslin or cotton is ideal.
- How do you spot clean baby stuff? Spot clean fabrics with soap, water and a cloth. Use a fabric spray to remove stains or use an upholstery cleaner or steamer to clean large fabric items. Consult the fabric labels before using any cleaners or steamers. Spray fabrics with an antimicrobial fabric spray if they can't be washed with soap and water.
- How does vinegar and baking soda remove rust? Soak or spray the rust with vinegar or Coke. Leave the vinegar to soak for 3 days, or Coke for 24 hours. Scrub away the rust. - What does dust on a sensor look like? Zoom in on the image (rear camera LCD), scroll from left to right and top to bottom all over the image and see if you can find any dark spots. If you cannot see any, your sensor is clean. If you see dark spots like in the above example, then your sensor has dust on it.
- Can Coke clean rust? You can remove rust with coke products, as coke beverages contain phosphoric acid, which interacts with iron oxide and allows rust to dissolve. While it might take longer to remove rust with coke compared to other tools, it is definitely possible to eliminate rust with coke.
