If you did absolutely nothing to remedy the problem, the smell of burnt popcorn can last from a few days to a few weeks. It really does depend on how badly things have gone! Much of this is to do with the starch and fiber in popcorn. This stuff can linger for a very long time, but it will go away eventually.
